Our laser hair removal is equally as comfortable as it is effective. At Face It Franklin, we use the Sciton Forever Bare BBL which is a more advanced technology than traditional laser hair removal. Sciton’s BBL hair removal technology uses light to heat up/damage the hair follicle without injuring surrounding tissue.

Q&A

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses a laser to target hair follicles and inhibit hair growth. The laser heats the hair follicle, damaging it and reducing hair growth. This results in a gradual reduction in the amount of hair in the treatment area.

Laser hair removal is effective on most skin types and hair colors. It is important for anyone to avoid tanning products and tanning in general (sun or sunbed) as you go through laser hair removal treatments. Laser hair removal is not ideal for those with blonde, white, or gray body hair – as it is hard for the laser to detect and treat those hair colors.

During a laser hair removal session, a laser technician will apply a cooling gel to your skin to minimize any discomfort. You and your technician will wear protective eyewear for the entire duration of the treatment. The procedure usually takes about 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area(s).

Laser hair removal is considered safe when performed by qualified and experienced laser technicians, like ours at Face It Franklin. However, like any cosmetic procedure, there are risks associated with the procedure, including redness, swelling, and burns. It is important to follow all pre and post procedure instructions.

Most people begin to see a reduction in hair growth within a few weeks of their first treatment. To achieve optimal results, multiple sessions are necessary, they are generally spaced 4-6 weeks apart. As you progress through sessions you will notice the growth cycle slow down.
